Black and white images, without colors, provide a more focused experience without color distractions. When viewing these images, it is easier to feel the emotions and sensations they convey. Yes, when I watch images, I usually ‘see’ them through my senses. The so-called through sensation is a way of observing without magnifying details, somewhat like wearing glasses with insufficient prescription, making the view somewhat blurry, only able to see outlines, color distribution, and brightness differences, and then, I can further assess or judge the present image based on the visuals I have seen in my mind, to determine whether it is something I like or am interested in. I can then choose to continue examining it in detail or move on to the next one.
I always provide both color and black-and-white versions of the delivered photos.
The black and white processing part is my own belief that these photos will look better or create a different viewing experience when processed into black and white tones. Most of the time, I would individually select and process a single image or a segment. It’s also because not all photos are suitable for being converted to black and white tones as there are certain prerequisites for a photo to fit the black and white treatment.
Enough talk, just enjoy the colorful photos.
